Our Favourite Things

Our Favourite Things

Hello, and welcome back to Frontiers!

How we have missed being open and speaking to our customers and neighbours every day.

The shop is full of our beautiful spring/summer buys, with new pieces (and new brands) arriving this month...

To welcome you back, the team have each selected the piece the are most excited about this season to share with you (along with their current past time of choice, for a little inspiration).

Caitlin:

My favourite look this season is the Picasso print Roger Jacket and Ellis Trouser by the great and wonderful L.F. Markey. I’ll be wearing these to all the summer weddings (keeping fingers crossed they go ahead), paired with classic black platform heels and thick gold hoops, or as separates to work and the pub.

While not busy at the shop (or dreaming about dancing with my friends again), I’ll be obsessively checking eBay for vintage furniture by G Plan and Ercol to furnish my currently empty tenement flat in Leith.

Jane:

I’ve not stopped admiring the vintage textile details of this Patchwork Louise Apron Dress by Carleen. This type of quilting block is called "grandmother's fan”, and each dress features a unique design. Wear now with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath (we love this rainbow stripe by YMC), or during high summer with just a pair of slides.

As always, I’ve been spending my free mornings swimming at the beautiful Drumsheugh Bath Club - the oldest swimming club in Edinburgh and just a short walk from the shop.

Kim:

I bought the floral Baum und Pferdgarden two-piece at the beginning of this season, and have barely had it off my back since… Together, it’s a very cool look for cocktails with friends (and there’s an elasticated waist if there’s a big meal involved), or for a day at work I’ll pair with trainers and a big chunky sweater.

On my days off I’ve been exploring Edinburgh with my 5-year-old, Polly. Recently, we’ve enjoyed a day on the open top bus tour and investigated Camera Obscura during the May bank holiday. It’s so wonderful to act the tourist in my home town.
